Hail

by

I’ve been terrible about posting, but I hope you”ll forgive me. Since about September, I’ve been suffering from morning sickness – that’s right! Baconbit’s having a her own little porkpie come summer!

It’s winter however, and there’s not a ton of market action. HOWEVER! Every week there are folks selling locally grown Christmas trees, wreaths, and boughs of holly. OK, I haven’t seen any boughs, but the herb wreaths look gorgeous and smell even better. Every market day there’s hot apple cider, and at least 20 kinds of apples to be had, plenty of pastured meats, raw and pasturized cheeses – even cultured butter sometimes.

I am still purchasing my eggs from Tellos. I took a chance on another vendor, but found their eggs to be a bit sulfurous for my taste. Maybe it’s a difference in breed or winter feed, as that particular vendor has several upscale restaurants she sells to. Maybe it’s just my weird pregnancy nose.

Here’s to hoping my nausea departs quickly – and I can start getting downtown early enough again to stroll about in the mornings, and give you accurate reports again.

In case that *doesn’t* happen – have a happy Holiday!
